The next meeting of the Village Improvement Committee will be held in the Millennium Hall on Thursday 23rd May 2019 at 10am.
It is expected that all members will make every effort to attend. Any member not able to attend should pass their apologies to either the Chair of the Committee or the Clerk.
Agenda
1. To appoint a chairman and, if required, a vice chairman
2. Apologies and attendance, including to accept apologies and the reasons for absence.
3. Members’ declaration of interests, gifts and hospitality.
4. To receive the notes of the Village Improvement Committee meeting held on 28th March 2019 and agree for them to be signed as a true record.
5. Items in Progress: to consider and agree any action as appropriate:
a. Update on the Emergency Plan
b. Update on Community Speed Watch scheme
c. Update on litter picking
d. Update on grass cutting matters
e. Consider the following Millennium Hall matters and, if applicable, approve expenditure and quotes:
i. To note installation of office blind and exterior lockable noticeboard
ii. cleaning
iii. curtains
iv. replacement carpet
v. replacement rear windows
vi. replacement lighting
vii. redecoration
viii. projector
ix. to extend office area
f. Costings for annual maintenance jobs
g. Re-siting of one half of Le Grand Luce sign
h. Resident’s e-mail regarding Tanfaine entrance
6. New Items: to consider and agree any action as appropriate:
a. Request for a memorial bench for, in order of preference, either the pond; the Parade or Cherry Fields
b. Note broken panel on Waterford Lane/Elm Avenue bus shelter
c. Approve a £30 payment towards the Oasis’ costs on tree planting days (ie use of their toilet; and use of bottled gas to heat up soups and drinks for the volunteers)
d. Consider grant for new pond display cases
7. Holding items:
a. Create footpath from Green Lane to Hawthorn Road
b. Create footpath from Church Lane to Gilbert’s pond
c. Revisit Millennium Hall blinds/curtains and heating once redecorated and cleaned
d. Update on extending Xmas lighting on Parade
8. Matters for report and notice of items to be included in the next meeting.
9. To confirm date for the next meeting.
