Update on Surface Water Drainage Improvement Works
The scheme is progressing well and on programme, and as previously advised we are on track to lift the current road closure on Fiskerton Road at the end of today (Friday 28th August), in which the traffic management restrictions on Fiskerton Road will change to two-way traffic lights from Tuesday of next week (1st September). The need for the two-way lights is to ensure that the final works relating to Phase 1 of the scheme can be concluded whilst the road is re-opened. These works include:
- Re-instatement works relating to the Anglian Water pumping station access culvert on the south of Fiskerton Road.
- Re-instatement works relating to the field access culvert on the south of Fiskerton Road.
- Construction of a small timber fence around the main culvert installed to the west of Fiskerton Road.
- The application of topsoil and grass seed on the verge areas.
In parallel to the above work taking place, work will begin on Phase 2 of the scheme in which the road closure on Waterford Lane will commence on Tuesday of next week (1st September). This will be in place for up to 3 weeks with the attached diversion route plan in place, as previously shared. This closure will enable the improvement works on the carriageway of Waterford Lane to be carried out, before project works move into the rear of properties on Waterford Lane for the remainder of the scheme, with the current planned project completion still on track for mid-October 2026.
We are pleased that the scheme continues to progress well and the Fiskerton Road closure can be lifted in time for the start of the new school term, as per our original project schedule.
