Minutes of Cherry Willingham Parish Council’s 

Allotments Sub-committee held on Monday 3rd March 2025 at 19:00 in the Millennium Hall.

Chair of the Committee: Cllr A Burge

Vice-Chair of the Committee: Cllr B Robinson

 

Present: - Cllr A Burge - Chairman, Cllr Mrs Burge, Mrs D Towsend, Mr S Jackson.

 

  1. To elect a minute taker

RESOLVED unanimously to elect Mrs Burge.

 

  1. To note and record apologies and absences.

Cllr B Robinson & Cllr S Bates.

 

  1. To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and consider any requests for dispensations in relation to Disclosable Pecuniary Interests or other interests as outlined in the Council’s Code of Conduct.

Mrs D Townsend & Mr S Jackson are both allotment holders.

 

  1. To resolve to sign the minutes from the allotment meeting from the 22nd July 2024 as a true record.

RESOLVED unanimously to approve the minutes from the 22nd July 2024 as a true record

 

  1. To approve drainage and any associated costs. 

It was suggested to dig a trench along the field side to put a drain across the middle of the allotments to drain into the dyke on the roadside.

RESOLVED unanimously to recommend to FC to spend up to £1000.00 on materials.

 

  1. To consider merging the Allotment Sub- committee with the Village Improvements Committee.

RESOLVED unanimously to merge the allotments sub-committee within the Village Improvements Committee. To recommend to FC

 

  1. To receive a report on any vacant or unkept plots, and approve any action required.

Plots 27,32, 33, & 36 are unallocated following the annual invoicing.

The Clerk wrote to plot 36 to inform them of termination of tenancy. Plot 36 can now be issued to Plot 35. The remaining three plots can now be issued to non residents on the waiting list

 

  1. To receive an update and resolve any actions in relation to the allotment association.

The central track is still incomplete, and requires more plannings.

The Allotment Association have £500 left of there grant money but may require some more 

money to complete the track.

Cllr B Robsinson to calculate the plannings required and to recommend to FC.

A request for al shed  to be installed at the bottom of the communal area for storage of garden furniture and tools et, Recommend to FC.

 

  1. Items in progress.

    1. Signage vehicles turning.

The Allotment Association wrote to WLDC, who rejected the proposal of a sign

  1. Grass cutting & strimming.

The Clerk to obtain a quote for this to be cut twice a year.

  1. Fencing the pond.

No future meetings to be held under this sub-committee
