The next meeting of the Leisure and Amenities Committee will be held in the Millennium Hall on Monday 9th February 2026 at 19:00  It is expected that all members will make every effort to attend.  Any member not able to attend should pass their apologies to either the Chair of the Committee - or the Clerk.

 

Prior to the start of the meeting a public forum will ordinarily, of no more than 15 minutes, be held.  The public may address the council on current matters or issues that may become future agenda items.

  1. To note and record apologies and absences.

  2. To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and consider any requests for dispensations in relation to Disclosable Pecuniary Interests or other interests as outlined in the Council’s Code of Conduct.

  3. To receive the minutes of the L & A Committee meeting held on the 24th November2025 and agree for them to be signed as a true record. 

  4. Items relating to 

    1. St Pauls Play Park

      1. To discuss and resolve any necessary action following playground inspection

      2. Prohibitory signs 

      3. Gate repair/replacement 

      4. Sensory path repair update

      5. Inclusive swings 

    2. Laburnum Play Park

      1. To discuss and resolve any necessary action following playground inspection

      2. Repair to wooden balance beam

      3. Nest swing replacement update

      4. Wet Pour replacement of rubber tiles  (junior swings) update

      5. New play equipment (Tower) 

      6. Removal of see saw

  5. To discuss actions relating to the burial ground

    1. Further work that may be required on headstones

    2. Benches 

    3. To approve payment for the Green Bin collection 

    4. Request for a memorial bench - Knowles

  6. Items in progress: to consider and agree to any actions as appropriate.

  7. To discuss the progress of the cargo net to complete the mound project

  8. Wish list 

  9. General: Any other matters to report for inclusion in the next agenda.
