Minutes of Cherry Willingham Parish Council’s 

Leisure & Amenities Committee held on Monday 31st March 2025 at 19:00 in the Millennium Hall.

Present: Cllr Mrs Burge - Chair, Cllr J Trahearn - Vice Chair, Cllr V Houghton, Cllr P Bucke,  Cllr R Pitchford

1. To note and record apologies and absences

 Cllr K Mellor, Cllr J Robinson

2. To receive any declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and consider any requests for dispensations in relation to Disclosable Pecuniary Interests or other interests as outlined in the Council’s Code of Conduct.

3. To receive the minutes of the L & A Committee meeting held on 10th February 2025  and agree for them to be signed as a true record.  Resolved

4.  To review progress of the grant for purchase of the Zip Wire for St Paul’s Play area

Grant has been received.  Updated quote from Proludic received.  Need to check lead time.

    ACTION: RFO

5. To discuss and resolve any action necessary for Laburnum Drive.  

Meeting with the three parties (Bowls, Cricket, Football) will take place on 3rd April

6. Items relating to St Paul’s Play Area: 

   1. Red bin to be removed.  New double bin has been ordered.

   2. Post to go out on PC social media to ask if there are any local handy people to do the sensory path repairs (decking).  Proposed Cllr Mrs Burge/2nd Cllr Bucke                    

   3.                                                                                                                  ACTION: Clerk 

   4. Infant and junior swing to have large wire ties added to the bars to prevent bird mess.  Resolved to purchase (£50 maximum) 

   5. Abu Dhabi - interactive blocks are stiff and can’t be turned

    ACTION:  Cllr Pitchford 

Items relating to Laburnum Play Park:

7.  Items in progress: to consider and agree to any actions as appropriate.

               i.  To discuss the progress of the cargo net to complete the mound project.   Excavator    

                   hire for 2 days.  Cllr Andrew Burge & Cllr B Robinson will carry out the work to add top soil 

                  (from the allotments) to the mound to ensure it is the right gradient (5 metres).  Date to be 

                  confirmed.  Work at Cherry Fields will also be undertaken.  Approval for the CCTV camera    

                  has been received

               ii.  To discuss ideas for additional items of play equipment.  

        Rotaglide from Playdale  (or similar from alternative companies)
