Village Improvements Committee held on Thursday 9th January 2025 at 10:00 in the Millennium Hall.

  1. To receive notes of the Village Improvement Committee Meeting held on Thursday 3rd October 2024 and approve as minutes.

RESOLVED unanimously to approve the minutes from Thursday 3rd October 2024 as a true record

 

  1. To discuss and approve any action necessary for maintenance required for the noticeboard at Little Cherry following the quotation for maintenance.

RESOLVED unanimously for the Clerk to obtain quotes for a new sustainable notice board holding upto 12 A4 sheets.

  1. To discuss and resolve a purchase of an office chair for the Admin Assistant.

RESOLVED unanimously to spend upto £150 on an office chair for the Admin Assistant.

  1. To discuss and resolve any necessary action relating to security of the office and staff safety following a HR meeting

RESOLVED unanimously to approve Hammer and Nails to install the new camera for the sum of upto £100.

  1. Memorial Gates

Due to be reinstated and placed back following their maintenance W/C 20th January 2025.

  1. Resilience Policy

RESOLVED for the Clerk to take to January FC for ratification.

The Clerk to obtain quotations for sand bags and 2 ton bags of sand.

  1. Millenium Hall heating

This has now been completed and the space is now warm.

  1. Gilbert's pond update.

Gilberts pond is due to be maintained WC 20th January 2025. After the work has been carried out a schedule will be in place for work to be carried out annually moving forward.

  1. Speed watch. (Cllr Bates)

In the last 3 months 11 speedwatch sessions have taken place, and 34 vehicles have been reported for speeding. The clerk to place an advert on FB for volunteers to join the team.

The Clerk to obtain quotations for an additional solar panel & box.

  1. Litter picking. (Cllr Fleetwood)

Litter pickers are still out at regular intervals. 

  1. Notice Boards, Map

This is still ongoing, Cllr M Palmer and the Clerk to do future work.

 

  1. To receive a report from the Allotment Sub-committee.

The allotment annual invoice has been issued. There are currently 4 vacant plots.

Clerk to put another advert out for the vacant paddock on Tanfaine.

  1. To receive a report on Tanfaine.

    1. Grazing licence

RESOLVED unanimously for the Licence to be renewed for another 6 months.

 

  1. To record and resolve any maintenance issues with regard to VIC assets.

Nothing at this stage.

Christmas Lights

 

  1. To confirm a date of the next VIC meeting.
