Minutes of Cherry Willingham Parish Council’s 

Fundraising Committee held on Tuesday 4th June 2024 at 19:00 in the Millennium

Present: Cllr S Bates Cllr A Burge, Cllr Mrs Burge, Cllr M Palmer, Cllr R Pitchford, Cllr D Pitchford, Cllr J Robinson, and Janet Laity

 

  1. To elect a Chair

RESOLVED unanimously to elect Cllr R Pitchford.

 

  1. To elect a minute taker.

RESOLVED unanimously to elect the Clerk.

 

  1. To elect a Vice-Chair

RESOLVED unanimously to elect Cllr S Bates.

 

  1. To elect co-opted non-councillor members on to the committee 

RESOLVED unanimously to elect Janet Laity, Paul Strickland, Michael Richardson.

 

  1. To note and record apologies and absences.

  1.  To record declarations of interest by any member of the council in respect of the agenda items listed below.

  1. To receive the minutes of the meeting held on 16th May 2024 and approve them as a true record

RESOLVED unanimously to approve the minutes of the .16th May 2024 as a true record.

 

  1. To appoint a Councillor as a representative on the Finance & General Purposes Committee.

RESOLVED unanimously to elect Cllr R Pitchford.

 

  1. To receive a report on the dog show held on the 1st June 2024 and agree to any action.

Cllr S Bates thanked everyone for their help and input as it turned out to be a tremendous Event with the turnout. A lot of positive feedback was published on social media following the event.

The event raised a total of £712.34 this includes a £250.00 sponsorship from Vippies.

RESOLVED unanimously to make an annual event

Additions to consider for next time following feedback, a food stall  and to publish the timings of the 

classes prior to people arriving at the event. 

 

  1. To discuss and agree any actions for the Produce Show 14th September 2024.

RESOLVED unanimously for Cllr M Palmer to lead this event. The categories were set at the previous meeting, but a few adjustments were made to the children's categories. The Clerk and Cllr M Palmer to work on the advertising and the programme. CWPC to include the Allotment holders as much as possible this year now the ROy Bowser Allotments are established

  1. To discuss and agree any action for the Light Switch on 23rd November 2024.

RESOLVED unanimously for Cllr Mrs Burge to be the leader of this event. CWPC to invite Vocalisa the Choir to sing at the Light Switch on with Carol Bradley to switch the lights on. CWPC to ask Steve Trevor whether he would like to attend as Santa for the children,

Cllr Mellor to source Mince Pies for the event

  1. To discuss and agree any action for the Christmas Quiz on 7th  December 2024

RESOLVED unanimously for Cllr A Burge to lead this event, Was also agreed that Pie and Peas would be offered again as part of the event. This event is being held at the Cherry & Reepham Village Hall. More raffle prizes will need to be obtained along with Plates and cutlery.

 

  1. Future events

    1. Gala

RESOLVED unanimously to host a Gala on the Laburnum Play Field on 2nd August 2025, Cllr R Pitchford and Cllr D Pitchford to research the initial foundations of organising this as they have previous experience in arranging these types of events.

  1. Afternoon Tea

To remove from future agendas, due to the committee being subscribed to other larger events at present. 

  1. Hanging Baskets

  3. Beetle Drive

This event would be ideal for a small winter event, a resident has volunteered to host this with CWPC help. To bring back to the fundraising committee later in the year to arrange a date and advertising with the resident.

  1. Other Event suggestions welcome

It was resolved to host 6 main good events with each event having a leader from the committee. Dates were also set for 2025.
