  1. Cherry Willingham, Reepham and     Fiskerton help group

Leaders from the  three Churches, the Parish Council and other community representatives set up a volunteer group to support residents of the three villages during lockdowns.  This included a dedicated phone line so people could talk to someone or leave a message. The group is currently dormant but could be re-activated very quickly should the need arise.  The information given to residents through the means of a leaflet drop was as follows:

Who are we?

We are a group set up to facilitate support to those who have no one else to help them during an emergency.  The organisers are members of local churches, Parish Council and community.

We encourage friends, neighbours and family to be the first place of help if possible.

We can:

  • Help arrange a regular friendly phone call

  • Pick up pre-paid shopping

  • Pick up pre-paid/free prescriptions

  • Set up transport for appointments through the Surgery

  • Refer specific cases to the food bank

We can’t:

  • Provide personal care

  • Provide transport

  • Handle cash transactions

We will never:

  • Ask for cash or bank details

  • Ask to come into your home

If you need help during this time of Emergency you should:

  • Ask friends and family first

  • Call us on 0333 772 6021 (a local call rate on a landline).  Your call will either be answered, or you will be able to leave a message and call back.

OR email CC@assistlincs.org.uk

  • If you need another kind of help and don’t know who can help you, ring us and we will try and find a way forward.  This is a fast moving situation and we haven’t thought of everything.

  • If it is a life-threatening medical emergency, you should call 999

Would you like to offer to provide help to others?
